Venngage alternative: SlideBuddy
Venngage turns a prompt into a designed carousel and gives you the file. SlideBuddy turns a topic into a carousel and puts it on your accounts. Neither is better — they finish in different places.
- Export vs. publish
- Design depth vs. daily output

What Venngage does well
It's a serious design product with a much broader remit than carousels, and it's been at this far longer than SlideBuddy has.
- Infographics, reports, diagrams and data visualisation — a whole category SlideBuddy doesn't touch.
- A real editor with template libraries, against SlideBuddy's fixed styles.
- Export to PNG, PDF, PowerPoint and HTML; SlideBuddy exports images only.
- Sharing options SlideBuddy has none of — public links, QR codes, embeds.
- A free tier, with Premium at $19/month (or $10 billed yearly).
- Team and enterprise tiers for organisations that need seats and governance.
Side by side
Where the two actually differ
| The job | Venngage | SlideBuddy |
|---|---|---|
| Where it finishes | A downloaded file, ready for you to post. | A published post on Instagram, TikTok or Facebook. |
| Social publishing | Not part of the product. | Native, through each platform's own API. |
| Design control | A full editor and template libraries. | 20 fixed visual styles — far less control, far less work. |
| Beyond carousels | Infographics, reports, diagrams, presentations. | Carousels. Nothing else. |
| Entry price | Free tier, then $19/month Premium. | five carousels free, then $29/month. |
| Making the ninetieth carousel | The same editing session as the first. | Generated overnight and waiting for approval. |
| Multiple clients | Business is priced per user. | Separate brands with their own voice, palette, schedule and accounts. |
Pricing quoted from Venngage's published pricing page, checked 3 August 2026. Their free-tier watermark policy isn't stated there, so it isn't claimed here. Features and pricing on both sides change. Check Venngage's own site for their current features and pricing.
Which one
Honestly, it depends what you're doing
Pick Venngage if…
- You make infographics or data visuals as well as carousels.
- You want control over every element of a design.
- You need PDF, PowerPoint or embeddable output, not just images.
- You post occasionally, so nothing about automation would get used.
- Your organisation needs per-seat licensing and governance.
Pick SlideBuddy if…
- The bottleneck is posting several times a week, not designing.
- You want Instagram, TikTok and Facebook handled without a phone.
- You'd rather approve a batch than open an editor.
- You want it to keep posting during the weeks you're busy.
- You're running client brands that must stay completely separate.
Questions
- Does Venngage post to social media for me?
- No — their plans are built around export and sharing: downloads, public links, QR codes, embeds. That's not a shortcoming, it's what a design tool is for. It is, however, the entire difference between these two products.
- Is SlideBuddy a Venngage alternative?
- Only for carousels that need publishing. For infographics, reports or anything you want to art-direct, Venngage does things SlideBuddy simply cannot, and swapping would be a downgrade.
- Which is cheaper?
- Venngage Premium is $19/month against SlideBuddy's $29, and both have a free tier. The comparison only means something if you'd use the publishing — otherwise you're paying more for a capability you don't need.
- Can I use both?
- Yes, and it's a reasonable pairing: Venngage for the considered pieces and anything data-heavy, SlideBuddy for the steady output that has to go out daily.
Try it on your own brand
Every feature free for 7 days, publishing included — the only way to compare two of these properly is to watch both post.
Full features for 7 days, cancel any time before it ends. Card required to start the trial so posting can begin immediately — or take five carousels free on the no-card plan, for ever.
