The Instagram carousel generator that publishes for you
Give it a topic. SlideBuddy writes the copy, designs every slide, writes the caption and posts the carousel straight to your feed — then does it again tomorrow.
- Posted to your feed, not downloaded
- 20 visual styles at 1080×1350
- Caption and hashtags included
Five carousels free, no card · Or 7 days of everything, publishing included
How it works
Generate an Instagram carousel in three steps
The first one takes about a minute. After that you can stop doing even this much.
- 01
Give it a topic and a brand
Set your palette, fonts, logo and tone of voice once. Type an idea, or turn on Auto-Create and let it pull from a topic bank matched to your audience.
- 02
It writes and designs every slide
A cover slide that earns the tap, the substance in the middle, a close that asks for something — rendered at 1080×1350 in whichever of the 20 visual styles you picked.
- 03
Approve, and it posts to your feed
One screen for the day's batch. Approve and SlideBuddy publishes the carousel through the Instagram Graph API, caption and hashtags attached.
Native publishing
Straight to the feed. No phone involved.
Most carousel generators hand you a folder of images. The ten minutes afterwards — export, transfer, open Instagram, upload in the right order, paste the caption — is the part that stops people posting consistently. SlideBuddy does that part.
- Published through the Instagram Graph API on a Business or Creator account you connect
- Up to 10 slides per carousel, in the order you approved them
- Caption and hashtags attached to the post, not left for you to paste in
- Failed posts retried and surfaced on the dashboard, never silently dropped
Not a reposting service, and not a robot driving your logged-in browser — the two approaches that actually put an account at risk.

Carousel post, caption attached
Sized for the feed, not cropped to fit it
Instagram carousels render at 1080×1350 — the 4:5 portrait ratio, which takes up the most vertical space in the feed and gives a cover slide the best chance of stopping a scroll. Square is there if you prefer it.
When the same carousel also goes to TikTok, it's rendered again at 1080×1920 rather than cropped down from the Instagram version — so nothing important ends up outside the frame.
The one thing 4:5 does cost you is the profile grid, which centre-crops it to a square. The safe zone checker shows you exactly what that removes from a slide of your own.

Captions
The caption is part of the post, not an afterthought.
Most tools generate slides and leave the caption box empty, which is how you end up writing it on your phone thirty seconds before posting. SlideBuddy writes both together and attaches the caption when it publishes.
- Written at the same time as the slides, from the same brief — so the caption isn't a restatement of slide one
- Hashtags tuned per platform: a wider mix of popular and niche tags on Instagram than on TikTok
- Your brand voice, not a generic engagement-bait template
- Editable on the approval screen before anything publishes
- Cover slideThe hook that earns the tap
- Slides 2–9One idea each, in your voice
- Final slideA call to action worth making
- CaptionWritten from the same brief
- HashtagsPopular and niche, mixed
What to post
Six carousel formats worth stealing
Give SlideBuddy any of these as a topic and it will structure the slides around it. How well they land depends on your audience — but they beat a blank box.
The carousel that gets saved
A checklist or reference someone wants to come back to. Saves are the signal worth chasing on Instagram, and a saveable carousel is the most reliable way to earn them.
“Seasonal home checklist, room by room”
The cost breakdown
What something really costs, itemised, with the number people are actually searching for on the cover slide.
“What a kitchen refit costs in 2026”
Mistakes to avoid
The inverse of a how-to, and usually the stronger hook. People swipe to check whether they're making the mistake.
“5 mistakes that void your warranty”
Before and after
A transformation split across slides, so the payoff lands on a swipe instead of being spent on the cover.
“This kitchen took four days”
Myth versus fact
One claim per slide, corrected. Fast to read, and it gives an expert account something to be expert about.
“No, you don't need to do this every year”
The listicle
Five or seven of something, one per slide. The most forgiving format there is — each slide carries a single idea and the count sets expectations up front.
“7 things your plumber wishes you knew”
Volume
Anyone can make one carousel
Posting on Tuesday, and the Tuesday after that, is what separates accounts that grow from accounts that stall.
A month in one sitting
Batches are generated overnight and wait for you. Approve a week at a time if that suits you better than doing it daily.
One carousel, three platforms
The same approved carousel goes to Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, rendered at the right size for each rather than cropped.
New accounts ramp up
Week one is one post a day, climbing by one a week until it reaches the rate you set. Opening at four a day is how a new account gets throttled.
It learns what works here
Content angles are tested against each other for this brand specifically, and whichever your audience responds to gets used more.
The difference
Making carousels vs. actually posting them
Design tools do the first column well. The second is where the weekly work lives.
| The job | A design tool | With SlideBuddy |
|---|---|---|
| Designing the slides | A template, an editor, and half an hour a carousel. | A topic goes in, a finished carousel comes out. |
| Writing the caption | Separately, afterwards, usually in a hurry. | Written with the slides, with hashtags tuned for Instagram. |
| Getting it onto Instagram | Export, move the files to your phone, upload in order. | Published to your feed through the Graph API. |
| Posting on a schedule | You, remembering, daily. | Queued and spread between 7am and 10pm in your timezone. |
| The same carousel on TikTok and Facebook | Resize everything and repeat the upload twice. | Cross-posted, sized per platform — one generation, three accounts. |
| A brand-new account | Post four times on day one and hope for the best. | Starts at one post a day and ramps weekly. |

Instagram carousel questions
- How many slides can an Instagram carousel have?
- Instagram accepts up to 10 images in a feed carousel, and SlideBuddy publishes up to that limit. Most of what it generates is shorter — six to eight slides usually holds a swipe better than ten does, and the last slide earns its place only if it's asking for something.
- What size are Instagram carousel slides?
- SlideBuddy renders at 1080×1350, the 4:5 portrait ratio, because it takes up the most vertical space in the feed. Square at 1080×1080 is there too, and the same carousel going to TikTok is rendered separately at 1080×1920 rather than cropped down from the Instagram version.
- Does it post to Instagram automatically, or do I upload the slides?
- It posts. Carousels are published through the Instagram Graph API on a Business or Creator account you've connected, with the caption attached. You can still download everything at full resolution if you'd rather post by hand — the free plan is download-only by design.
- Do I need an Instagram Business account?
- A Business or Creator account, yes. That's Instagram's requirement for publishing through their API rather than SlideBuddy's, and switching a personal account over takes about a minute in the Instagram app.
- Does it write the caption and hashtags too?
- Yes, both, generated alongside the slides rather than bolted on afterwards. Hashtag counts are tuned per platform — Instagram gets a wider mix of popular and niche tags than TikTok does, because the two behave differently.
- Can I edit what it writes?
- Every slide and every caption, before anything goes out. The daily approval screen is where you'd do it, and you can drop a carousel entirely without breaking the schedule.
- Will posting through an API hurt my reach?
- Publishing through the official Graph API is the route Instagram built for this, and it's what scheduling tools have used for years. What genuinely carries risk is browser automation and third-party reposting services — and posting volume, which is why new accounts here start at one a day and ramp rather than opening at full rate.
- Is there a watermark?
- No. Downloads are full resolution and unbranded on every tier, free included. Putting your own logo or @handle on the slides is an optional setting rather than something applied for you.
- What does it cost to try?
- Nothing, and no card. The free plan gives you five carousels on one brand with all 20 visual styles, at full resolution, to download and post yourself. Publishing and scheduling are the paid part.
