- There isn't one, and any list claiming otherwise is ranking by affiliate commission. The category splits three ways — design-first tools where you control every slide, content-first tools that draft slides for you to export, and publishing-first tools that also post them. Picking the wrong *kind* costs more than picking the wrong brand within a kind.

- Count how often you post. A few times a month and you want a design tool — Canva or Piktochart, and automation is money wasted. Several times a week across more than one platform, and the uploading is your real cost, so a publishing-first tool earns its keep. That single number decides it more reliably than any feature table.
